Ghana, a coastal nation on the Gulf of Guinea, is renowned for its rich cultural diversity. In Accra, modern life thrives alongside deep African traditions, celebrated in events like Afrochella. Kumasi, once the heart of the Ashanti Kingdom, still honors royal customs such as the Awukudae and Akwasidae festivals. In the north, the Dagomba, Gurunsi, and Lobi peoples preserve traditional lifestyles through unique architecture and art.

Ghana’s history is rooted in the power of the Ashanti Kingdom and its role in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. The Elmina and Cape Coast forts, now UNESCO World Heritage Sites, reflect this era. In 1957, Ghana became the first African country to gain independence under President Kwame Nkrumah, reclaiming its name from a great West African empire.

The climate is tropical, with a rainy season from April to October. Days are typically in the 80s°F, and nights remain warm in the 70s°F.
